Victoria whale-watching

This memorable experience is best arranged after you arrive here - we will check recent sightings and weather conditions  and you can plan accordingly. Note that most operators use zodiacs which are not recommended if you are concerned about your back, are pregnant, are young or elderly. Other marine tours

Scuba diving
The Strait of Georgia is rated second only to the Red Sea for water clarity and marine life diversity. There are five artificials reefs and many shipwrecks. Ogden Point Dive Centre.

Kayaking
There are several good companies offering rentals, lessons and tours including: Pacifica Paddle Sports in nearby sheltered Saanich and Tod Inlets, Rush Adventures in Sooke or A Paddle in the Park in Sidney.

Sailing
Victoria sailing on Tall Ship Thane offers 3 hour cruises which Frommers described as "The best way to spend an afternoon in Victoria" - it is SO relaxing and highly recommended.
Blackfish Sailing Adventures offer half day or full days instructional sailing on the waters of southern Vancouver Island.
