Victoria BC recreation - a guide
Our guide to Victoria BC recreation includes golf courses, whale-watching, kayaking, tours and hiking in BC parks.
The coastal location of Victoria, its hills and forests, parks and lakes naturally offer a wide range of recreational activities. We have a lot of information to browse through at the bed and breakfast and offer this an an introductory guide.
Here on the Saanich Peninsula is just about all you are likely to want to do but for further exploration it is easy to drive west to the Sooke coastline or north to southern Vancouver Island from our central location. We can suggest some lovely interesting drives taking you to area attractions.

Driving tours - tours in the Victoria area, to the Gulf Islands, and on both the east and west coasts of southern Vancouver Island. Scenic air tours suggestions too.
Sidney-by-the-Sea - spend a morning or more in this charming seaside booktown at the north end of the Saanich Peninsula - drive to wineries, gardens, farms and coastal communities. (There are four estate wineries on our road alone!)
Golf - Victoria golf courses are open year-round, enjoying lovely views of the hills and mountains, lakes and coastline.
Marine recreation - Victoria marine tours include whale-watching, sailing, kayaking and fishing off southern Vancouver Island.
See this pages for other recreation, like horseback riding, zip-lining, hiking, sports and the pool and gym at Saanich Commonwealth Place recreation centre.
Parks, beaches, hiking - BC parks, provincial parks and Victoria beaches. Hikes can be easy or arduous - our favourites are Gowlland Tod and East Sooke provincial parks. We have maps of these you can borrow.
Some of these are highlighted in our selection of Victoria BC videos.
