Victoria Spring gardensVictoria spring gardens are such a joy as the earth awakens at our bed and breakfast garden. Victoria is often called the City of Gardens. As the rest of Canada remains under a canopy of snow you can come here to enjoy the glorious Spring gardens. We are located in a quiet country setting not far from the Butchart Gardens but all Victoria attractions are nearby.
The Butchart Gardens feature thousands of tulips in massed displays with forget-me-nots in the background and all other Victoria gardens public gardens are open for viewing. And throughout the City of Gardens many home gardeners take advantage of the perfect gardening climate too. Below are our Victoria cottage gardens.
Spring temperatures in Victoria are in the range of 10 to 15 degrees Celcius (up to 60 degrees Fahrenheit). It is lovely to see new growth opening up daily. It is hard to believe all these are from our single acre established over 30 years ago. The Victoria flower count in February involves one week of counting the blooms of flowers, bushes and trees. The mild climate produced 8.5 million blooms in 2002! We have numerous fruit trees with full blossoms so have plenty to count. Later dozens of rhodendrons burst into bloom. Below are two images just for fun, two imposed upon each other. You will find more of these, some great floral collages and lots of other garden images on our B&B screensaver, slideshow and wallpapers page.
