Camelot - photos
A Victoria bed and breakfast room that oozes with character. This photos gallery shows features of this BC B&B retreat's guest room. The rich colours are reminiscent of Arts and Crafts homes which in turn were influenced by the medieval period. Entered through a private entrance off its own deck garden, Camelot has a king-sized bed with a featherbed (or two single twin beds) within a rich, romantic decor. The private ensuite bathroom has a two-person jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub and separate double shower unit with seat.
The wonderful tapestries provided the inspiration for the character and deep colours of the room. Above the fireplace is a famous 1895 tapestry by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, "The Arming and Departure of the Knights", now in the collection of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. "The Lady" near the window features Guinevere, before she was queen, being courted by King Arthur entering in the background accompanied by her maid Luned. Lastly, another Burne-Jones wallhanging "Laus Veneris" (1869) enriches the stunning bathroom. Rates, including a full breakfast:
