B&B breakfasts - at our Victoria bed and breakfast
A selection of B&B breakfasts are offered at the Gazebo bed and breakfast. Breakfast is taken seriously here to 'set you up' for your day in Victoria - you may not need to buy any lunch! Being fully inclusive, ie included in the room rate, this makes the bed and breakfast great value (a quite ordinary downtown hotel here charges $30 per person for the same elements of the meal we serve). Book online.
You have a choice of three formats:
a) a full breakfast served in the dining room at 8.30 or 9.00am,
b) a lighter breakfast without the main course,
c) a packed breakfast if you need to leave early.
Details of each are below.
Full B&B breakfasts
These memorable B&B breakfasts are candlelit multi-course meals served in the lovely surroundings of the dining room, served elegantly on fine china with linen napkins and silver service. Breakfast is served at 8.30am.
The meal varies each day; scrumptiously tasty, nutritious and attractively presented. For example, on the morning this was written, our four guests from Hawaii enjoyed:
freshly ground coffee, or a selection of fine black, green and herbal teas
a fruit salad with seasonal soft fruits and berries; today including local raspberries, melons and kiwi
a rich fruit yogurt
a main course of baked eggs, one of Linda's specialities: freshly laid eggs baked with a blend of Swiss cheeses, succulent Black Forest ham, fresh Roma tomatoes and locally grown asparagus (or other seasonal vegetables)
muffins straight from the oven, with home-made preserves
one of these guests had a special diet to which we catered accordingly (though we can not provide for vegan diets).
A lighter breakfast
Omitting the main course, the meal includes:
freshly ground coffee or a selection of fine black, green and herbal teas
home baking with home-made preserves
A packed B&B breakfast
If you need an early departure we can provide a packed breakfast if informed by noon the previous day. The meal typically includes:
coffee and a selection of teas are provided in your room
bagels with cream cheese
apple fritters or pastries
One couple wrote afterwards 'You are charming hosts and your breakfasts are to die for. We will recommend the Gazebo B & B to anyone we know who is coming to Victoria.'
"This is the most elegant breakfast I've ever had." (Travis (& Dixie), Victoria, BC, July 2006)
"We were thrilled with everything here. The setting, the room, the beautiful house and especially the extravagant breakfasts. You don't need to eat lunch after your morning feast." Sheree & Dave, Sacramento, CA.
A tongue-in-cheek video comparison of breakfasts at hotels and at bed and breakfasts:
We gain much satisfaction from helping to make your visit memorable. B&B breakfasts are a good time to discuss itinerary suggestions, pass on local knowledge, make reservations for whale watching or dining, and to recommend B&Bs for ongoing travel in BC and elsewhere.
